1.1 Contact form

Our contact form requires you to enter your first name, surname, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. We use this personal data from the contact form for internal purposes only and only to the extent required to contact you regarding your questions and/or concerns.

1.2 Log Files

For system security, and to prevent any misuse of our website, protocols (“log files”) are stored on our servers and contain the following data:

  • Remote IP address

  • Remote user (only for protected areas)

  • Local time

  • Request (requested URL)

  • HTTP status code

  • Number of bytes transmitted

  • Referring page (referrer)

  • Client ID (user agent)

We remove any identifying information contained in the stored log files after at least seven days if there is no suspicion of interference or misuse. In all other cases, we delete the log files if they are no longer required for the purposes indicated.

2. Are personal data passed on to third parties?

We only transmit personal data to third parties, such as our subsidiaries, if the transmission is absolutely necessary in order to answer your inquiry or if you have expressly given your consent to such transmission.

In certain cases, we are legally bound to pass on your personal data to third parties, such as criminal investigators or prosecution authorities, if there is any suspicion of a criminal offense having been committed.

On parts of our website, it is also possible that your data will be transmitted to third parties to the extent described below, or be recorded by such third parties. HellermannTyton does not take any responsibility for the transmission or use of personal data by these such third parties.

3. Are personal data recorded by third parties?

3.1 YouTube and Google Maps

Our website may include videos from the external platform YouTube. The platform is operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you call up a subpage containing YouTube videos while browsing our website, your browser will establish a direct connection with the YouTube servers. YouTube will transfer the video directly to your browser and incorporate it into the website. Consequently, we have no influence on the scope of the data captured by YouTube via this method.

Furthermore, our website also uses Google Maps on a number of subpages to display interactive maps and create route maps.

Google Maps is a cartographic service from Google Inc. (hereinafter referred to as: “Google”), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, USA. Using Google Maps may lead to the collection of certain personal information on the use of this website, including your IP address and the starting address used within the scope of the route planning function being transferred to Google in the USA.

If you call up a subpage that contains Google Maps while browsing our website, your browser will establish a direct connection with the Google servers. Google will transfer the map contents directly to your browser and incorporate them into the website. Consequently, we have no influence on the scope of the data captured by Google via this method.

You can find information on the purpose and extent of data acquisition as well as how the data is processed and used by YouTube and Google, together with your rights and optional settings to protect your privacy, in the data protection notes of YouTube/Google: www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/.

3.2 Hyperlinks to external websites

Our website contains hyperlinks to external websites of other providers. When clicking on these links, you will be transferred from our website directly to that external website. The change in the URL is but one way you will recognize the transfer.

We cannot accept any responsibility for the handling of your data by these providers on such external websites, as we have no influence on how these providers treat your personal data. You should therefore directly consult the information contained in the privacy statement for the website of the respective provider.

4. Are cookies used on the website?

4.1 Session cookies

We make use of what many people refer to as “session cookies” on our website. The purpose of these session cookies is to make visiting our website easier and more comfortable for you.

After you end the browser session, the cookies are deleted automatically.

4.2 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google. Google Analytics uses session cookies, which are placed on your computer, to help us analyze how you use our site.

The information generated by the session cookies about your use of our website will generally be transmitted to and stored by servers operated by Google in the USA.

We employ Google Analytics exclusively with the extension “anonymizeIp” for IP anonymization, which ensures that your IP address is truncated by Google prior to transmission in order to prevent it from being linked to a particular individual. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

Google will employ this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for us, and provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transferred by your browser while using Google Analytics will not be combined with other data from Google. Furthermore, you can prevent the data generated by the session cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being captured and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

4.3 Deactivation of cookies

It is also possible to use our website without session cookies. Most browsers are set up by default to accept session cookies automatically. You can, however, deactivate the storage of session cookies or set up your browser so that it informs you before any session cookies are saved; however, we do wish to point out that if you do exercise this option, it may not be possible to use all the functions of our website to their full extent.

5. How do we ensure the protection of your personal data?

We, or our contracted data processors, store any personal data provided by you on specially protected servers whenever the website requires us to capture such data. Access to these servers is restricted to a limited number of authorized personnel who are involved with the technical, commercial, or editorial support.

To avoid any loss or misuse of the data, we take extensive technical and organizational precautions, which undergo regular reviews for safety and security.

6. What rights do you have with respect to your personal data?

We value your trust in us. Any time upon request, we will be glad to inform you as to whether we have stored any of your personal data and, if so, which data. If, despite our efforts, incorrect details about you have been stored with us, we will rectify them without delay upon request.

If you would like us to delete the personal data for you that we have stored, we will do so on request. Should technical or legal reasons make such deletion impossible, we will block access to the data instead.

Please address any such requests to: [email protected]

Please read this statement regularly, as all information provided on this website is subject to change without notice.
