MILWAUKEE - HellermannTyton North America has passed the stringent VDA 6.3 process audit required by all European automotive manufacturers. The A rating is the highest possible, indicating a supplier is capable of providing the quality insisted upon by these automakers.
Volkswagen last performed this audit at the Milwaukee plastics manufacturer in 2016, when an A rating was also achieved. “This audit result validates our continuous process improvement strategy,” said HellermannTyton President Terry Tuttle. “We work extremely hard to maintain preferred supplier relationships with all our customers and enjoy working closely with them to deliver the solutions they count on from us.”
VDA 6.3 is part of a quality standard that applies to the German automotive industry. The extensive audit reviews every process from product inception through ongoing customer care. In between, that includes all production phases, including how equipment is calibrated, how parts are inspected for quality, how well team members are trained and more.
