MILWAUKEE - HellermannTyton North America today announced a $17,835 donation to support ongoing recovery efforts in Texas and Florida after back-to-back hurricanes destroyed entire neighborhoods and displaced thousands of families.
The donation began as an appeal to its North American employees to contribute whatever they could toward the hurricane relief efforts.
“I’m so proud to see the generosity of our people here, in North America,” said HellermannTyton President Terry Tuttle. “This contribution will bring much-needed relief to the families hit hardest. That’s what this was all about.”
Half of the donation came directly from employees, and the other half was a dollar for dollar match from the company. The money was sent to the American Red Cross, which routes 91 cents of every dollar toward assistance for those affected by the hurricanes. This includes meals, water, shelter support, diapers, cleaning supplies, health services and more.
